Art Therapy
“Art therapy combines the creative process and psychotherapy, facilitating self-exploration and understanding.

Using imagery, colour and shape as part of this creative therapeutic process, thoughts and feelings can be expressed that would otherwise be difficult to articulate”
(Canadian Art Therapy Association)
Our approach to art Therapy
Mistatim Creative Processing integrates Indigenous culture, teachings and art mediums. Offering a caring and loving experience rooted in culture and ancestors.
We aim to provide a space for our clients to feel comfortable, explore and grow. Guiding our clients with tools that can help them feel confident to continue working on their healing journey outside of their sessions with us.
Why I do ARt Therapy
I have experienced going to therapy and not being understood, having to explain over and over what I was experiencing and the backstories of being Indigenous, what the 60’s scoop was, how inter-generational trauma affected me and my spiritual frame of thinking.
I wanted to see someone who understood, so I could focus on the problems at hand and move forward.
This is why I became an Art Therapist.
